By now, you are fully aware of the devastation that Hurricane Harvey has caused in the State of Texas, most especially in the city of Houston. As much as we would like, there is no way that we can help everyone that is in need of our aide and assistance, but our Prince Hall Brothers and Sisters in the Jurisdiction of Texas have specifically called on us.
To provide relief to the distressed is a duty incumbent upon all men, particularly upon Masons who are linked together by a chain of sincere affection.
My dear friend and Brother, Most Worshipful Wilbert M. Curtis has issued a sign of distress and requests our assistance. The Grand Lodge of Texas has established a process for accessing the specific needs of those impacted by the storm and is prepared to distribute funds they receive to the members of the Prince Hall Family and to the community at large.

Sending water, goods and supplies in addition to incurring shipping costs will be a distribution nightmare. For that reason and in order for us to make a greater impact, I am asking all of our Tennessee Brothers and Sisters, Lodges and Chapters and other Masonic bodies to collect and send monetary donations to our Grand Lodge Office at 3385 Airways Blvd. | Suite 219 | Memphis, TN. 38116.

Contributions should be in the form of checks or money orders made payable to the Arvin W. Glass Charitable Foundation with Hurricane Harvey Disaster Fund on the memo line. We will collect the funds and send the total amount collected to the Prince Hall Charitable Foundation of Texas. The first deadline for collection of funds is September 15, 2017. If additional time is needed, we will do a second collection due by September 30, 2017.

Visit to Youth Center

The Grand Master of Prince Hall Masons for the Jurisdiction of Tennessee, Arvin W. Glass and Memphis District Deputy Grand Master Charles E. Beasley visited the Vance Avenue Youth Development Center and presented to Youth Director Mrs. Barbara Nesbit a check from the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Tennessee, Arvin W. Glass Charitable Foundation.

The Vance Avenue Youth Development Center is a charitable organization dedicated to developing underprivileged children in the Vance Avenue and surrounding area in Memphis, Tennessee. Mrs. Barbara Nesbit of the "Vance Avenue Youth Development Center" is a beacon of light in a City filled with darkness and despair for so many young children. The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Tennessee and the Memphis Masonic District Prince Hall Masons are proud to be supporters of Mrs. Nesbitt and her outstanding ministry.
